This specimen was lot 15 in Sincona sale 5 (Zürich, May 2012), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted,
"ITALIEN Genua Dogi Biennali, 1528-1797. 5 Doppie 1640. Av. *DVX * ET * GVB * REIP * GENV * Befusstes Kreuz, in den Winkeln Sterne. Rv. * ET * REGE * EOS * 1640 * IB * SVS * Madonna auf Wolken, mit Sternenkranz um den Kopf. Sie hält mit der Rechten ein Zepter, auf ihrem Schoss das Christuskind. Sehr selten. NGC AU55. Vorzüglich. (Italy, republic of Genoa, biennial doges, five doppie of 1640. Obverse: floriate cross, stars in fields; reverse: Madonna on cloud, holding scepter and Christ Child. Very rare, NGC-55, extremely fine.)"
