Stack's Bowers October 2024 Collector's Choice sale, lot 75283

This specimen was lot 75283 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice Online Auction (Costa Mesa, CA, October 2024), where it sold for $780. The catalog description[1] noted, "GREAT BRITAIN. Sovereign, 2022. Charles III. NGC MS-70 Deep Prooflike. One of First 500 Struck (Strike # 109). With flashy and reflective surfaces, the present example is quite stunning." This type was also struck in piedfort format (KM 2341a) along with sovereigns with the bust of queen Elizabeth II (KM 2340 and 2340a).

Recorded mintage: unknown plus 20,403 proofs.

Specification: 7.98 g, 0.917 fine gold, 22.05 mm diameter, 0.2352 troy oz AGW.
