This specimen was lot 11278 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice Online Auction (Costa Mesa, CA, February 2025), where it sold for €432 (about US$450). The catalog description[1] noted, "SWEDEN. Öre, 1633. Stockholm Mint. Christina. NGC VF Details--Bent. Very rare variation with volutes. From the L. E. Bruun Collection." The death of Gustavus Adolphus in 1632 completely disrupted Swedish dreams of becoming a Great Power. This type was struck for the young queen Christina in 1633-37, 1650 and 1653. Some have her name spelled "CHRITINA" in error.
Recorded mintage: 682,699 (all varieties).
Specifications: 1.23 g, 0.375 fine silver, this specimen 1.21 g.
Catalog reference: KM-153; Delzanno-141; SM-83; Bruun-11915.
