Stack's Bowers September 2024 Collector's Choice sale, lot 76439

This specimen was lot 76439 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, September 2024), where it sold for $85. The catalog description[1] noted, "IRAN. Safavid Dynasty. Abbasi, AH 1132 (1719/20). Isfahan Mint. Sultan Husayn. NGC AU-58. A bright and charming nearly Mint example, this Abbasi delivers appealing brilliance, with soft peripheral toning and essential no signs of handling." This type, struck AH 1129-1334 at Isfahan, was produced at ten mints. Isfahan is a common mint.
