This specimen was lot 4238 in Künker sale 294 (Osnabrück, Germany, July 2017), where it sold for €1,700 (about US$2,291 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"REICHSKLEINMÜNZEN, 1 Mark 1882, H. Sehr selten in dieser Erhaltung. Vorzüglich-Stempelglanz. (unified minor coinage, one mark of 1882-H, very scarce in this condition, extremely fine to uncirculated.)"

This type was struck 1873-87 at nine mints; this specimen is a product of the Darmstadt mint ("H"). It is a key date. In 1891, a modified eagle was introduced and this denomination was struck in that form until 1918.
