Sincona sale 91, lot 3480

This specimen was lot 3480 in Sincona sale 91 (Zurich, May 2024), where it sold for 100 CHF (about US$132 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"SCHWEIZ Solothurn, Vierer 1789, Solothurn. Gutes vorzüglich. (Switzerland, canton of Solothurn, vierer of 1789, Solothurn mint. Good extremely fine.)"

This type was struck 1761, 1789-90, 1793-98 and is common up thru Extremely Fine. Four kreuzer made a batzen and forty batzen made a thaler.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: 0.6 g, billon, 14.5 mm diameter, this specimen 0.59 g.
