This specimen was lot 20399 in Heritage auction 3574 (Long Beach, CA, September 2019), where it sold for $26,400. The catalog description[1] noted,
"Serial Number 1 Upland, California Red Seal Upland, CA - $10 1902 Red Seal Fr. 614 The First NB Ch. # (P)8266 PMG Very Fine 30. "Upland, CA - $20 1902 Plain Back Fr. 651 The First NB Ch. # (P)8266. A scarce San Bernardino County bank with just eight large notes in the census. All have been closely held for many years, with very few offered recently. This is an attractive $20 Plain Back that made its last public appearance in our 2005 FUN auction. Crisp PMG Choice Very Fine 35, with just the lower left corner tip missing."
