This specimen was lot 31834 in Heritage sale 3029 (New York, January 2014), where it sold for $211.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "Oscar II 2 Ore 1879 Inverted 9, MS63 Brown NGC. The 9 in the date is clearly struck over another numeral although we are uncertain whether this is the 9 over inverted 9 or 9/6. Nicely toned and original, scarce quality for this early series." This date is known with several varieties: 1879, 1879/6, 1879/9, all fairly common. The type was struck 1877-1905.

Recorded mintage: 935,000.

Specification: 4 g, bronze, 21 mm diameter.
