This specimen was lot 32246 in Heritage sale 3105 (New York, January 2023), where it sold for $73,200. The catalog description[1] noted, "Great Britain: Expressive Gold Kilo Gothic Crown Portrait Issue. Elizabeth II gold Proof "Gothic Crown Portrait" 1000 Pounds (Kilo) 2021 PR70 Ultra Cameo NGC. Great Engravers series. First Releases. An expansive and substantial representative of a part of the most prolific and sought-after series for both vintage and modern collectors alike, witnessed here in the kilo size at certified perfection. A masterwork of William Wyon commemorated in a two-part appreciation of both obverse and reserve designs struck for the "Gothic" series in the mid-19th century. Accompanied by the original case of issue and COA #06." This, like many recent British NCLT's, is missing from the SCWC. We will refer to it by its Spink number.
