Sincona sale 38, lot 1731

This specimen was lot 1731 in Sincona sale 38 (Zurich, May 2017), where it sold for 600 CHF (about US$720 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"Girvan Yuddha Vikrama, 1799-1816 1/4 Mohar 1808 SE. (1730 AD.). Vorzüglich-FDC. (Nepal, Girvan Yuddha Vikrama, 1799-1816, quarter mohur of SE 1808. Extremely fine-uncirculated.)"

This catalog number, KM 540.1, was actually dated SE 1730 (AD 1808). This specimen realized triple the admittedly low catalog value.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: 1.4 g, gold, this specimen 1.40 g.

Catalog reference: KM 540.1, Fr-10.
