This specimen was part of lot 40455 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Philadelphia, August 2018), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "COLOMBIA. Lot of (6) 5 Pesos, 1919-26. PCGS MS-62 Gold Shields. Fr-113 & 115; KM-201.1 & 204. Each coin is beautiful and lustrous with yellow-gold surfaces. From the Eldorado Collection of Colombian Coins." This type was struck 1919-24 and superseded the "minero" type of 1913-19. This date comes with no mintmark, mintmark "A" and mintmark "B".
Recorded mintage: unknown but common.
Specification: 7.99 g, .917 fine gold, .234 troy oz AGW (same standard as a British sovereign).
