This specimen was lot 1106 in Jean Elsen sale 146 (Brussels, November 2020), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted,
"BRABANT, Duché, Marie-Thérèse (1740-1780), Cu liard, 1744, Anvers. D/ B. diad. à d. R/ Inscription en cinq lignes. Très Beau. (duchy of Brabant, Maria Theresia, 1740-80, copper liard of 1744, Antwerp mint. Obverse: diademed bust right; reverse: five line inscription. Very Fine.)"
This type was struck 1744-45 at Antwerp (hand mintmark), Bruges (lion mintmark) and Brussels (angel face mintmark). It was the first coin struck in Brabant since Austria conquered it 1703-14. The liard was the smallest denomination and was 1/240 of a ducaton.
