This specimen was lot 21072 in Stack's Bowers ANA Auction (Denver, CO, August 2017), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "Superb Gem Proof INDIA. 5 Rupees, 1879-(c). Calcutta Mint. NGC PROOF-66* CAMEO. Struck with a 1/4 Rupee obverse die (dated 1877, Prid-408). Minor strike through present in front of the bust, though otherwise this is a pristine example displaying wondrous cameo qualities. Needle sharp strike and fully brilliant with great eye appeal.
