This specimen was lot 1054 in Jean Elsen sale 110 (Brussels, September 2011) where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted,
"ALLEMAGNE, SAXE, August (1553-1586), AR Taler, 1577 HB, Dresde. Droit : B. cuirassé à droite, tenant une épée sur l'épaule. Revers : Ecu orné sous trois heaumes. Nettoyé. Superbe. (Saxony, August (1553-86). silver thaler of 1577, Dresden mint. Obverse: armored bust to right, bearing a sword on the shoulder; reverse: arms, three helmets above; cleaned, extremely fine.)"
This Davenport type was struck as late as 1585 and is common.
