This specimen was lot 20491 in Heritage sale 3021 (New York, January 2013), where it sold for $4,582.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "Christian VI gold Ducat 1740, MS62 NGC, an attractive lustrous example with bold details, very scarce type featuring the fortress at Christiansborg on the reverse." This type is noted for 1738 and 1740 and is rare.
