The first specimen was lot 5219 in Sincona sale 9 (Zurich, October 2012), where it sold for 850 CHF (about US$1,075 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"SCHWEIZ Basel - Doppeltaler 1741. Fast vorzüglich. (Switzerland, canton of Basel, double thaler of 1741. Good extremely fine.)"

The second specimen was lot 1618 in Stack's Bowers ANA auction (Chicago, August 2014), where it sold for $1,938.75. The catalog description[2] noted, "SWITZERLAND. Basel. 2 Taler, 1741. NGC EF-45. A popular type, featuring a city view. Pleasing gray surfaces." The SCWC notes this rare type for 1741 only. This is the last double thaler listed for Basel and is accompanied by a single thaler (Dav-1750).
