Sincona sale 47, lot 2538

This specimen was lot 2538 in Sincona sale 47 (Zurich, May 2018), where it sold for 150 CHF (about US$180 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"SWITZERLAND, Basel, Stadt und Kanton Basel, Halbtaler 1640. Fast sehr schön. (city and canton of Basel, half thaler of 1640. About very fine.)"

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: silver, this specimen 13.53 g.
