This specimen was lot 23217 in Stack's Bowers ANA Auction (Denver, CO, August 2017), where it sold for $493.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "SEYCHELLES. 1/2 Rupee, 1954. NGC PROOF-64 CAMEO. Sharply struck with watery mirror fields and a light tinge of tone." This type was struck 1954, 1960, 1966-74. Only the 1969 is common in proof.

Recorded mintage: 72,000 + proofs.

Specification: copper-nickel.
