This specimen was part of lot 42616 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2019), which sold for $144. The catalog description[1] noted, "COLOMBIA. Lot of (4) 1/2 Reales, 1/2 Decimo, Decimo & 5 Decimos. ...A diverse quartet of mid-19th century small silver, all graded by PCGS. ...1853 1/2 Decimo, EF-40, Bogota or Papayan, Restrepo-181.1; ...From the Eldorado Collection of Colombian Coins." This type is recorded for 1853-58 from Bogotá only and is supposedly common. It superseded the old ½ real and represents the definite decimalization of the coinage.
