This specimen was lot 1792 in Sincona sale 38 (Zurich, May 2017), where it sold for 800 CHF (about US$960 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"Matthias, (1608-)1612-1619 Dukat 1609. Wien. Selten. Schön-sehr schön. Henkelspur. (Holy Roman Empire, Mathias I (1612-19), ducat of 1609, Vienna mint. Rare. Fine-very fine. Trace of mounting.)"
This type was struck for the emperor Mathias 1609-12 and is very scarce.
Recorded mintage: unknown.
Specification: 3.5 g, .986 fine gold, this specimen 3.41 g.
