France 1707H 10 sols rev DSLR.jpg

Shown is a ten sols aux insignes (ten sous with insignia) struck at the La Rochelle mint for France in the last years of Louis XIV's reign. The type was struck 1703-08 in substantial numbers but the Metz ("AA") and Strasbourg ("BB") mints struck ten sols aux quatre couronnes. This date is common. The SCWC lists this as a 1/8 écu but Droulers notes this coin is closer to a 1/7 écu.

Recorded mintage: 2,731,224.

Specification: 3.10 g, .798 fine silver, plain edge, designed by Norbert Roëttiers.

Catalog reference: Dr/4 no. 709, Dr/2 no. 463, Gad-133.
