This specimen was lot 725 in Sincona Auction 103 (Zürich, May 2026), where it sold for 1,000 CHF (about US$1,524 including buyers' fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"LIECHTENSTEIN Hans Adam II. seit 1989. 25 Franken 2019, Zum 300-jährigen Jubiläum von Liechtenstein. Sehr selten. Nur 999 Exemplare geprägt. Polierte Platte. Im Originaletui mit Zertifikat. (principality of Liechtenstein, Hans Adam II, since 1989, 25 francs of 2019, on the 300th anniversary of the principality. Very rare. Only 999 specimens struck, Choice Proof, In original box with certificate.)"
The ruling family of Liechtenstein were long servants to the Austrian emperor and held many estates therefrom, including the duchies of Troppau and Jagerndorf in Silesia. No ruling prince of Liechtenstein set foot in his domain until 1818. Today, the locals use Swiss money for ordinary transactions and Liechtensteiner coinage is made for collectors. This NCLT was struck by B. H. Mayer Kunstprageanstalt of Karlsfeld, Germany, which has made coins for Barbados, Kiribati, Mongolia, Nauru, Rwanda, Andorra, New Zealand, Palau and Bhutan, among others.
