Sincona sale 102, lot 5455

This specimen was lot 5455 in Sincona Auction 102 (Zürich, October 2025), where it sold for 100 CHF (about US$151 including buyers' fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"SCHWEIZ. Solothurn. Stadt und Kanton. Batzen o. J. (um 1560), Solothurn. Mzz. Sechszackiger Stern mit kleinem zentralem Loch. Selten. Gutes sehr schön. (Switzerland, canton of Solothurn, undated batzen, circa 1560, Solothurn mint, mintmark six-pointed star with a small central hole. Rare, Good Very Fine.)"

Numista attributes this undated type to 1556-66. The mintmark reported in the description is between "MONETA" and "SOLODOREN".

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: 2.5 g, silver, 28 mm diameter, this specimen 2.85 g.
