This specimen was lot 4540 in Künker sale 335 (Osnabruck, Germany, March 2020), where it sold for €1,400 (about US$1,832 including buyer's fees). The catalog description<sup>[1]</sup> noted, <blockquote>"''WÜRTTEMBERG, WÜRTTEMBERG, HERZOGTUM, SEIT 1806 KÖNIGREICH. Wilhelm I. 1816-1864. Gulden 1844. Besuch der Münzstätte Stuttgart. RR Hübsche Patina, vorzüglich.'' ([[Germany]], kingdom of [[German States, Wurttemberg|Wurttemberg]], William I, 1816-64, gulden of 1844, mint visit. Rare, handsome patina, extremely fine.)"</blockquote> This type was struck in 1844 on the occasion of the king's visit to the new mint. A regular gulden (KM 574) was also struck in 1844 and is common.
