This specimen was lot 4478 in Sincona sale 4 (Zürich, October 2011), where it did not sell. The catalog description<sup>[1]</sup> noted, <blockquote>"''DEUTSCHLAND Württemberg, 1806 Königreich Wilhelm I. 1816-1864. Doppelgulden 1825. Selten. Sehr schön-gutes sehr schön.'' (Kingdom of Württemberg, William I, 1816-64, double gulden of 1825. Rare, very fine to good very fine.)"</blockquote>  The doublen gulden was another odd denomination that fell in between the thaler and double thaler in size. Two types of double gulden are recorded for Wurttemberg in 1825, varying in the presence of "WAGNER F" below the bust. This one, without the engraver's name, is slightly scarcer than the other.
