This specimen was lot 1821 in Jean Elsen sale 149 (Brussels, December 2021), where it sold for €150 (about US$203 including buyer's fees). The catalog description<sup>[1]</sup> noted, <blockquote>"''ITALIE, VENISE, Paolo Renier (1779-1789), AR ducato, s.d. Sigle AD (non identifié). D/ Le doge agenouillé devant saint Marc qui lui confie sa bannière. R/ Lion de saint Marc deb. à g. Fêlure du flan. Très Beau.'' ([[Italy]], [[Italy, Venice|republic of Venice]], Paolo Renier, 1779-89, undated silver ducat with initials AD. Obverse: the doge kneels before St. Mark, who offers him a banner; reverse: the lion of St. Mark to left, supporting the open Gospels, before a tower. Planchet cracks, Very Fine.)"</blockquote> The SCWC mentions this type with initials AD (shown here), LAF, BC, RB, AF, FD, AO, AB, FR, AC and GF. It had a face value of ninety soldi.
