This specimen was lot 5585 in Sincona sale 35 (Zürich, October 2016), where it sold for 500 CHF (about US$594 including buyer's fees). The catalog description<sup>[1]</sup> noted, <blockquote>"''Confederation, 1 Franken 1860. Seltener Jahrgang. FDC.'' (Swiss confederation, one franc of 1860. Rare date, Uncirculated.)"</blockquote> This type was struck 1860-63. It replaced an earlier franc ([[Switzerland 1857-B franc|KM 9]]) which was 0.900 fine silver. It was superseded in 1874 by the familiar [[Switzerland 1878-B 2 francs|standing Helvetia]] type.
