This specimen was issued by the [[Solomon Islands]]. The Solomon Islands, especially Guadalcanal, were the scene of heavy fighting during World War Two. Coinage commenced in 1977. This coin is a product of the Franklin Mint and was issued 1977-83. The reverse depicts a Malaita pendant.
