This specimen was lot 21571 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Las Vegas, August 2020), where it sold for $1,080. The catalog description<sup>[1]</sup> noted, "[[Great Britain, Scotland|SCOTLAND]]. 30 Shillings, ND (1637-42). Charles I. PCGS EF-45 Gold Shield. Third coinage. Falconer's second issue, "F" over crown on reverse. A decently struck example on a nice round planchet, with strong outer legends and typical shallow central obverse devices. Minor signs of adjustment marks on the reverse. A handsome example displaying rich slate patina in the protected areas, while a medium grey is seen on the open fields and atop of the devices. A wholesome and original looking survivor certain to see spirited bidding from the specialist. Ex: Spink Auction # 5033 December 1, 2005 Lot # 826." Numerous varieties exist of this type (KM-87, [[Scotland (1638-39) 30 shillings|KM-88]], [[Scotland (1639-41) 30 shillings|KM 89]], KM-90, [[Scotland (1641-42) 30 shillings|KM-91]]). This coin was roughly equal to an English half crown.
