This specimen was lot 1140 in Stephen Album sale 30 (Santa Rosa, CA, January 2018), where it sold for $152.75. The catalog description<sup>[1]</sup> noted, "SAXE-GOTHA-ALTENBURG: Friedrich III, 1732-1772, AE 3 pfennig, 1761-LCK, some red luster, proof-like strike, just fantastic! NGC graded MS65 BR." [[Saxe-Gotha-Altenburg 1755-LCK ducat Fr-2977|Ducats]] from this postage stamp state are rare and expensive but many of the minors are quite affordable. This type was issued in 1761 only.
