This specimen was lot 996 in Sincona sale 11 (Zürich, May 2013), where it sold for 3,750 CHF (about US$4,643 including buyer's fees). The catalog description<sup>[1]</sup> noted, <blockquote>"''DEUTSCHLAND Sachsen-Gotha-Altenburg, Herzogtum Friedrich I. 1675-1691. 1 ½ Taler o. J. Mit Wertpunze. Fast vorzüglich-vorzüglich.'' ([[Germany]], duchy of [[German States, Saxe-Gotha|Saxe-Gotha]]-Altenburg, Frederick I, 1675-91, 1½ thaler without date, with value counterstamp. Extremely fine.)"</blockquote> This type is noted with and without a "1½" stamped into the reverse. It is not listed in Davenport. A rare double thaler ([[Saxe-Gotha-Altenburg (1675-91) 2 thaler Dav-LS423|Dav-LS423]]) also exists.
