This specimen was lot 1247 in Sincona sale 76 (Zürich, May 2022), where it sold for 11,000 CHF (about US$13,352 including buyer's fees). The catalog description<sup>[1]</sup> noted, <blockquote>"''ITALY | House of Savoy / Sardinia. Carlo Emanuele III. 1730-1773. Doppia 1755, Torino. Selten. FDC. NGC MS64*. Prachtexemplar.'' ([[Italy]], [[Italy, Sardinia|kingdom of Sardinia]], Charles Emanuel II, 1730-73, doppia of 1755, Turin mint. Rare, Uncirculated, Cabinet piece.)"</blockquote> This type was struck 1755-72 with all dates listed as rare. Altho ''doppia'' means "double," this coin is not a double ducat but a double scudo d'oro so we have excluded it from our category of gold ducats.
