The first specimen was lot 3221 in Sincona sale 43 (Zürich, October 2017), where it sold for 2,600 CHF (about US$3,103 including buyer's fees). The catalog description<sup>[1]</sup> noted, <blockquote>"''Regensburg, City, Dukat o. J. (1746-1751). Mit Titel Franz I. Sehr schön-vorzüglich.'' ([[Germany]], city of Regensburg, undated ducat, struck in the name of Francis I, Very fine-extremely fine.)"</blockquote> The second specimen was lot 5237 in Künker sale 354 (Osnabrück, Germany, September 2021), where it sold for €6,500 (about US$9,046 including buyer's fees). The catalog description<sup>[2]</sup> noted, <blockquote>"''REGENSBURG, STADT, Dukat o. J. (1745-1765), mit Titel von Franz I. GOLD. Selten in dieser Erhaltung. Feiner Prägeglanz, vorzüglich +.'' ([[Germany]], [[German States, Regensburg|city of Regensburg]], undated ducat, struck in the name of Francis I. Scarce in this quality, fine luster, extremely fine or better.)"</blockquote> The third specimen was lot 3231 in Künker sale 405 (Osnabrück, March 2024), where it sold for €26,000 (about US$34,115 including buyer's fees). The catalog description<sup>[1]</sup> noted, <blockquote>"''DIE REICHSSTADT REGENSBURG. DIE ZEIT DES KAISERS FRANZ I., 1745-1765. Goldmünzen aus der Zeit des Kaisers Franz I. Dukat o. J. (1745-1765), mit Titel von Franz I. Münzmeister Johann Christoph Busch. Stempelschneider Johann Leonhard Oexlein. In US-Plastikholder der NGC mit der Bewertung MS 64 PL (6643582-011). GOLD. R Kl. Kratzer, vorzüglich-Stempelglanz.'' ([[German States, Regensburg|city of Regensburg]], undated ducat, struck in the name of Francis I. Graded NGC MS-64PL, rare, light hairlines, extremely fine to uncirculated.)"</blockquote> This gold ducat was one of a series (half ducat (Fr-2539a), single ducat (Fr-2539), double ducat (Fr-2537), triple ducat (Fr-2536)) issued to honor the new emperor Franz I, husband of Maria Theresia of Austria. As Regensburg had supported his rival, Bavarian [[Regensburg (1742-45) ducat Fr-2515|Karl VII]], this may have been presented by way of atonement.
