This specimen was lot 347 in Künker sale 293 (Osnabrück, Germany, July 2017), where it sold for €340 (about US$458 including buyer's fees). The catalog description<sup>[1]</sup> noted, <blockquote>"''PREUSSEN, KÖNIGREICH Friedrich II. der Große, 1740-1786. Reichstaler preuß. 1752, C, Cleve. R Fast sehr schön.'' ([[Germany]], kingdom of Prussia, Frederick II (the Great), 1740-86, thaler of 1752, Cleves mint. Scarce, about very fine.)"</blockquote> This type, issued from Cleve 1751-53, is the second thaler issued by Frederick the Great after the very rare type of 1741 ([[Prussia 1741-EGN thaler Dav-2581|Dav-2581]]). Despite the bold label, "EIN REICHS THALER," it was not, being reduced in weight and fineness.
