This specimen was lot 961 in Jean Elsen sale 138 (Brussels, September 2018), where it sold for €750 (about US$1,041 including buyer's fees). The catalog description<sup>[1]</sup> noted, <blockquote>"''ALLEMAGNE, NUREMBERG, Ville impériale, AV ducat, 1700CGL (chronogramme). Klippe. D/ Trois écus. Au-dessus, une colombe ten. un rameau. R/ L'agneau de Dieu deb. à g. sur le globe terrestre, ten. une bannière inscrite PAX. Fine griffe au droit. presque Superbe.'' ([[Germany]], imperial city of Nuremburg, gold klippe duct of 1700. Obverse: three shields; below, a dove bearing an olive branch. Reverse: the Lamb of God to left over the globe, bearing a banner inscribed PAX. Fine scratch on the obverse. about extremely fine.)"</blockquote> This type was struck starting in 1700 and tho not cheap, is more available than other Nurnberger ducats of the eighteenth century.
