This specimen was lot 2728 in Sincona sale 26 (Zürich, October 2015), where it sold for 3,600 CHF (about US$4,447 including buyer's fees). The catalog description<sup>[1]</sup> noted, <blockquote>"''Nurnberg, Taler 1698. Sehr selten. FDC. Prachtexemplar.'' ([[Germany]], city of Nurnberg, thaler of 1698, very rare, uncirculated, proof example.)"</blockquote> This type is listed in the SCWC as only scarce but not rare; this specimen realized 75% more than the catalog value. This type was issued to celebrate the Peace of Ryswyck, a brief interlude in the wars between France, England, the Dutch and the Austrians. This type was accompanied by a 4 ducat ([[Nurnberg 1698-GFN 4 ducat Fr-1874|KM 231]]), 5 ducat (KM 232), 6 ducat (KM 235), 8 ducat (KM 240) and 9 ducat (KM 241).
