This specimen was lot 1327 in Sedwick Auction 36 (Winter Park, FL, November 2024), where it sold for $7,800. The catalog description<sup>[1]</sup> noted, "[[Peru|PERU]], Lima, 2 reales, 1838 MB, very rare, NGC XF details / damaged, finest and only example in NGC census, ex-O'Brien. While the 8 reales of this North Peru type is relatively abundant, the 2 reales is quite rare (unpriced in KM), and this is a competent example in decent grade, just with some small digs on Liberty side, slightly off-center strike, with very light orange toning in legends and darker area at feet. Pedigreed to the John O'Brien Collection (stated on label), with his tag." This rare type of 1837-38 is not priced in the SCWC.
