This specimen was lot 2595 in Steve Album Auction 51 (Santa Rosa, CA, January 2025), where it sold for $48. The catalog description<sup>[1]</sup> noted, "[[India, Mughal Empire|MUGHAL]]: Shah Jahan I, 1628-1658, AR rupee, Zafarnagar, AH1042, month of Amardad, 2 testmarks, scarce mint, VF." Shah Jahan is most remembered today for having built the Taj Mahal as a mausoleum for his wife. His successors after Aurangzeb (r. 1658-1707) were not able to cope with external attack, Hindu rebellion and civil war and the empire broke up in the eighteenth century. Zafarnagar struck this style years 3-6. We don't know where Zafarnagar was located; no modern town of India bears that name.
