This specimen was lot 74290 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, February 2022), where it sold for $432. The catalog description<sup>[1]</sup> noted, "[[India|INDIA]]. [[India, Mughal Empire|Mughal Empire]]. Rupee, Farwardin AH 1031 Year 16 (March/April 1621/2). Surat Mint. Jahangir. NGC MS-64. Argent and highly brilliant, this near-Gem presents well executed calligraphy that is rather tantalizing." This type was struck at sixteen mints during years 3-22 and is common. Surat produced mostly [[Mughal Empire AH 1033/17 rupee KM-148.1|type 148 rupees]] and is a scarce mint for type 145.
