This specimen was lot 34397 in Heritage sale 3035 (Long Beach, September 2014), where it sold for $705. The catalog description<sup>[1]</sup> noted, "British Colony Specimen Rupee 1888-H SP64 PCGS. Heaton, (H), mint. A lightly toned coin with resplendent underlying luster. Few of this type exist in specimen grade." Mombasa is a port in what is now [[Kenya]] and came under British control in 1887.
