This specimen was lot 4119 in Sincona sale 39 (Zürich, May 2017), where it sold for 300 CHF (about US$360 including buyer's fees). The catalog description<sup>[1]</sup> noted, <blockquote>"''HOLY ROMAN EMPIRE - AUSTRIA, Leopold II. 1790-1792 1/2 Kronentaler 1791 M. Mailand. Sehr schön.'' (Holy Roman Empire, Leopold II, 1790-92, half crown thaler of 1791, [[Italy, Milan|Milan]] mint. Very fine.)"</blockquote> This one year type struck during Leopold II's brief reign is rare. The purchaser of this lot obtained a bargain. It is the last of the denomination; full ''crocioni'' were struck for Francis II until 1799 and the loss of Milan to the French.
