This specimen was lot 71688 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, June 2022), where it sold for $1,560. The catalog description<sup>[1]</sup> noted, "[[Macao|MACAU]]. 1000 Patacas, 1986. Lunar Series, Year of the Tiger. NGC MS-69. This superb issue displays matted and beautiful surfaces, with the majestic and regal tiger being fully displayed by the strong strike. A handsome and altogether charming example of the type." Macao began issuing NCLT's in honor of the Chinese lunar calendar in 1979. This denomination was added in 1980.
