This specimen was lot 72418 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Santa Ana, CA, October 2019), where it did not sell. The catalog description<sup>[1]</sup> noted, "[[Japan|JAPAN]]. 50 Sen, Year 8 (1933). PCGS MS-64 Gold Shield. A slightly better date in high grade with light attractive gold patina." This type was struck in Tokyo 1928-38. The fifty sen was 13.48 g until 1905, then 10.13 g during 1912-17, then 4.95 g during 1922-38 and [[Japan 1946 (S21) 50 sen|brass]] thereafter.
