This specimen was lot 704 in Künker sale 400 (Berlin, February 2024), where it sold for €1,400 (about US$1,816 including buyer's fees). The catalog description<sup>[1]</sup> noted, <blockquote>"''UNGARN, 2. Republik seit 1989. 10.000 Forint 2012, Budapest. Karl I. Piefort (Dickabschlag);  Feingold. Mit Randschrift: + KAROLUS · REX · FLORENUS · 1325. GOLD. R Nur 1500 Exemplare geprägt. Polierte Platte.'' ([[Hungary]], second republic, since 1989, 10,000 forint of 2012, Budapest mint, piefort, with lettered edge. Rare, only 1,500 examples struck, proof.)"</blockquote> This NCLT was struck with a reeded edge (KM 841) or a lettered edge (KM P28, shown here). They cannot be distinguished from the usual auction photograph as depicted here. The type commemorates the Hungarian goldgulden of the Middle Ages.
