This specimen was lot 3169 in Künker sale 294 (Osnabrück, Germany, July 2017), where it sold for €1,200 (about US$1,617 including buyer's fees). The catalog description<sup>[1]</sup> noted, <blockquote>"''NIEDERLANDE, HOLLAND, Grafschaft. Philipp der Gute, 1433-1467. Cavalier d'or o. J. Dordrecht. GOLD. Kl. Randfehler, sehr schön +.'' (Netherlands, county of [[Netherlands, Holland|Holland]], Philip the Good, 1433-67, undated cavalier d'or, Dordrecht mint. Small edge defects, very fine or better.)"</blockquote> This coin, strictly speaking, does not belong with the Spanish Netherlands as it was issued by the Burgundian duke Philip the Good. His son's death in battle ended the dynasty and allowed the Low Countries to fall into the hands of the Spanish in the early sixteenth century.
