This specimen was lot 1301 in SINCONA Auction 97 (Zürich, May 2025), where it sold for 100 CHF (about US$145 including buyers' fees). The catalog description<sup>[1]</sup> noted, <blockquote>"''DEUTSCHLAND Hohenlohe-Neuenstein-Öhringen, Grafschaft, Johann Friedrich I. 1641-1702. Batzen (4 Kreuzer) 1697, Nürnberg. Münzmeister Georg Friedrich Nürnberger. Vorzüglich-FDC.'' ([[Germany]], county of [[German States, Hohenlohe|Hohenlohe]]-Neuenstein-Öhringen, John Frederick I, 1641-1702, batzen or four kreuzer of 1697, Nuremberg mint. About Uncirculated.)"</blockquote> Hohenlohe lies in Swabia between Wurttemberg and Ansbach and hardly seems worth the splintering it experienced in the seventeenth century. Several of the counts issued joint coinage, complicating matters.
