This specimen was lot 7172 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2022), where it sold for $456. The catalog description<sup>[1]</sup> noted, "[[Great Britain|GREAT BRITAIN]]. Penny, ND (1431-32/3). Calais Mint; mm: cross fleuree/-. Henry VI (first reign). PCGS Genuine--Graffiti, EF Details. Pinecone-mascle issue. Obverse: Crowned facing bust; pinecone in legend; Reverse: Long cross pattée, with trefoils in angles; mascle in legend. Noted graffiti on the obverse, however good details from a very choice strike remain present. From the Runze Collection." Silver pennies were struck with many different mintmarks during the reign of Henry VI at London, Calais, York and Durham. Silver halfpence and farthings were also issued tho probably disliked for their small size.
