This specimen was lot 10091 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice Online Auction (Costa Mesa, CA, February 2025), where it sold for €840 (about US$876). The catalog description<sup>[1]</sup> noted, "[[Denmark|DENMARK]]. 8 Skilling, 1608. Copenhagen Mint. Christian IV. NGC AU-53. Attractive toning with crisp details, especially on obverse. From the L. E. Bruun Collection. Ex: Aug K. Krautwald Collection." This type was struck at Helsingør 1608 only and was worth one twelfth speciedaler. Another eight skilling ([[Denmark 1608 8 skilling KM-32.3|KM 32.3]]) was struck at the Copenhagen mint. Christian IV (r. 1588-1648) had a long but only moderately successful reign. His war with Sweden and his intervention in the Thirty Years War were costly and brought little gain.
