The first specimen was lot 719 in Sedwick Treasure Auction 27 (Winter Park, FL, May 2020), where it sold for $654.50. The catalog description<sup>[1]</sup> noted, "[[Argentina, Cordoba|Cordoba]], [[Argentina]], 2 reales, 1849, seven-pointed sunface, NGC MS 64, finest known in NGC census, ex-O'Brien. Nice luster and no wear, incipient toning at edge, large die-cracks on both sides, noteworthy as the single finest at NGC by five grades. NGC #4771567-002. Pedigreed to the John O'Brien collection." The second specimen was lot 22011 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (Newport Beach, CA, January 2021), where it sold for $1,080. The catalog description<sup>[2]</sup> noted, "ARGENTINA. Cordoba. 2 Reales, 1849. Cordoba Mint. PCGS MS-63 Gold Shield. 7-Pointed Sun variety. Sharply detailed for the issue with no major instances of handling and flashy luster over which soft gray tone sits on both sides. Considering this type's elusiveness even as grades approach Mint State, it should come as no surprise that this example exists as the sole finest for the variety in the PCGS census. From the Matthew Orsini Collection." This two reales was struck 1849-50. A similar two reales with an eight point sun ([[Cordoba 1849 2 reales KM-28|KM 28]]) was struck 1848-49.
