This specimen was lot 40135 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Philadelphia, August 2018), where it sold for $576. The catalog description<sup>[1]</sup> noted, "COLOMBIA. 1762-JV 2 Escudos. Santa Fe de Nuevo Reino (Bogotá) mint. Carlos III (1759-1788). EF-45 (PCGS). The final Bogotá two Escudos to depict the bust of Ferdinand VI, struck in the third full year of Carlos III's reign. Bright orange and violet toning frames medium yellow gold centers. Some trivial hairlines are noted, unimportant to this piece's excellent visual appeal. An attractive example of this scarce issue. From the Eldorado Collection of Colombian Coins. Ex. Glendining's sale of November 1971, lot 346." This specimen is one of a series struck 1760-62 at the Nuevo Reino (Bogotá) mint, which switched to the "rat nose" bust midway thru 1762. While the two escudos is a rare denomination for Mexico, it is common for the Colombian mints.
